| This is the most idiotic thing ever! [LJ Repost] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted*
http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/4-30-2005-69355.aspBasically short version, teachers are being asked not to grade papers in red pen because the color is too "negative". Don't people have better things to bitch about? We all had our papers graded that way growing up and we turned out ok. Did anyone ever think maybe the problem with kids in America these days is because society keeps wanting to coddle them? Maybe the reason people bring bombs and guns to school is because they've been so overprotected their whole lives that as soon as they hear one negative thing said to them by a teacher or another student they don't know how to handle it and go off the deep end. Christ. |

| Strange Kitten Related Items [LJ Repost] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted* Found this one at the bottom of a menu at http://www.menulizard.com Once you choose a restaurant choose one of the printable menu sizes, the recycle messages are randomized so you won't always get the kitten one; but they have other funny ones like "Recycle, Bitch" and "Computer viruses target non-recyclers". And this one several years ago on the side of a building that was about to be demolished. Kind of weird huh? |

| Random Thought of the Day [LJ Repost] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted* Does anyone besides me get pissed off that they make Ally Sheedy's character all pretty at the end of "The Breakfast Club".. what a sellout. I liked her better pseudo-goth new-wave freak pixie-stix sugar high girl.. *grumble* |

| LiveJournal Members Gone Awry [LJ Repost] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted* So I was messing around on Wikipedia which is my new hobby for some reason, and for fun I looked up LiveJournal. In the article they mention a number of notorious LJ owners who were killed (tiabliaj), committed a killing (smchyrocky, weise, and skulz67), or did other unspeakable acts (ohbutyouwillpet don't even get me started on this guy... GROWL!) and it occurred to me how random the internet is. OK two people on my friends list (dark_happiness and dakotakym) I went to H.S. with but even that was 15 years ago, but others I never even met and I wonder what I would do if say someone on the eddieizzard board suddenly turned out to have a massive collection of human skulls in their closet. I wonder if the people who were "friends" to any of these notorious LJ owners knew that one day the seemingly innocent posts about anger and deviant behavior would eventually drive the poster to kill their mother, mass murder people in their school and then turn the gun on themselves, rape a four month year old baby!? And does anyone find it ironic that one of tiabliaj's last posts mentioned how she was afraid of men.. only to be killed ironically several days later by a male? Anyways I'm ranting here but looking back I could easily see myself reading one of these journals, maybe thinking the owners had some issues but that they would have worked out, only to realize in hindsight once the atrocities happened how I should have seen it coming. Hopefully this won't ever happen to anyone I consider a friend or even an acquaintance.. but I just couldn't help from thinking. |

| Kinda Gross, But... [LJ Repost] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted* Basically took it because I found it very Sadako/Samara ("Ringu"/"the Ring").And yes I am aware that it is probably not a good thing that this much of my damn hair falls out whenever I brush it.It has been very chemically damaged for some time now, because I used to do naughty things to it in college (like change colors every other week) and it has STILL not recovered. It was finally getting better and I had it highlighted for my wedding. It was finally getting better AGAIN, and my mom took me to have it done as a present. I didn't want to but the guy assured me it wouldn't do any damage.. some of the ingredients they use are actually good for your hair.. blah blah blah.. I should have known better to trust him since they get paid more for coloring your hair than to just cut it... but I didn't want to seem ungracious about getting it as a gift so I went ahead and did it and now I am paying for it. Poor Hair! |

| A Very Eddie Christmas [LJ Repost 12/26/05 9:07AM] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. MySpace does not allow me to backdate further than 1/1/06, so the original post dates are in the subject line* Yea! Finally got most of my VHS replaced with DVD thanks to my husband. Got "Definite Article"," Dress to Kill","Glorious", and "Unrepeatable"; as well as "We Know Where You Live,Live!" which I didn't previously own. Now if they would just hurry up and release "Sexie" here in the U.S. it would be nice and possibly "Live at the Ambassadors" (though Eddies website says noway, no how in the ever ever). Also to add to the British Humourey fun I also got my Young Ones VHS replaced, now I can hear the special guests bands without the annoying tracking and age warpiness.Meaghan got spoiled rotten: already had to rearrange her room once after her dedication because she has so many clothes.. now she got a bunch of toys and you can't walk from her crib to her changing table without tripping over something. Be glad when the construction on our house is done so I can have someplace to put all this stuff. |

*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. MySpace does not allow me to backdate further than 1/1/06, so the original post dates are in the subject line* You are The Empress Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation. The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful. The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her. What Tarot Card are You?Take the Test to Find Out. Note 8/25/08: I had actually forgotten I had even taken this meme. Odd considering more recent conversations, though I have associated with this card since well before this even (appx. 1992 or thereabouts). |

*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. MySpace does not allow me to backdate further than 1/1/06, so the original post dates are in the subject line* Definite Article! Your Izzard-ness is at 90! Your Izzard-ness is off the charts! You must be a bit of a bastard, cuz you're getting shagging a-plenty! Your knowledge of the Action Transvestite is unrivaled, and you KNOW you wanna be a beekeeper! You wanna KEEP BEES! But you're COVERED IN BEES! Quite sexy, actually. Well-done. You beat out Sexie Eddie, Kilted Eddie, and the lowly Plain-clothes Eddie. If I asked you, "Do you have a flag?" you'd say "Yes, five of 'em!" You're like Achilles without the Achilles Heel... Immortal! My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender: You scored higher than 99% on Izzard-ness The Expanded Eddie Izzard Action Test written by fontanel on OkCupid Free Online Dating, home of the 32-Type Dating Test Probably only didn't get 100 because this test had some quotes kind of farked and often it was hard to tell what they were asking you. Note 8/25/08: Oh! So this is the test that got me involved with that wretched Ok Cupid! site! I always thought it was the "Heroes" test, but apparently it's sinister mechanizations have a much more ancient root. I love thier memes, but that dating portion, Tres Sketchy! No mater how often and emphatically I reiterate that I am "not looking" or that I'm "just here for the quizzes" I still get vile and horrible e-mails from some of the sites darker denizens. |

| Family Annoys Me (As Per Usual) [LJ Repost 11/15/05 8:08AM] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. MySpace does not allow me to backdate further than 1/1/06, so the original post dates are in the subject line* This always happens this time of year, but for some reason even though I am not sure they mean to, my family can get on my nerves. For instance yesterday, Thanksgiving, my mom asked me to clean the table between dinner and dessert. Firstly it took a while because the kitchen is small and I couldn't get through with people in there to put stuff away. So I'm part done and she is all "is it ready?". I say "no I'm still trying to put everything away but I can't go anywhere". When I finally get it all cleared off, its a glass table so i take the runner off to Windex the glass and shes yelling at me that she doesn't want the runner off. So I yell back "how do you expect me to clean it with the runner on it!" and then shes all "oh i thought you would go around it", yeah cos that would work as soon as i sprayed the runner with Windex by accident she would have had a conniption. And yeah part of the people in the way thing. My grandmother who was in manic mode because she couldn't keep still kept trying to help even though my mom must have told her like 50 times not to. She was constantly in my way while I was trying to help. And she almost broke the glasses or the dishes at least 3 times because she isn't very steady which is why my mom kept telling her not to help and the first place. Not to mention she must have told Steve about 15 times at least that he was bothering Meaghan (mind you she was asleep and if he wants to hold her it's his prerogative she is our child). So yeah that was a little annoying. And lastly I moved Meaghan to her own website but I specifically said firstly that I still had to take some time to fix everything so don't expect it until at least Monday. So I get back this e-mail from my cousin who basically says "We want to see less of Steve and more Meaghan" OK so did you miss that whole part of ITS NOT DONE!!! Not to mention something about the way he wrote the e-mail implied he thinks my husband made the site, which is annoying because my dads whole side of the family I swear thinks girls are only on the planet to make two things, babies and sandwiches.. so god forbid I could have been the one programming the site!!! |

*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. MySpace does not allow me to backdate further than 1/1/06, so the original post dates are in the subject line* Yeah it was all housewifey crap.. but still I feel good. Sometimes I don't get to do anything if Meaghan is having a fussy day.. But I did my dishes.. Almost all my laundry.Called back my mom and my dad.Talked to my grandmother.. Called Fisher Price about the problems I was having with two of their products. then proceeded to fix the Ocean Wonders Aquarium, have to wait on a new motor housing to fix the mobile on the Jungle Plaid Cradle Swing though.Taught Meaghan how to actually USE her Baby Einstein Discovering Water Play Gym.. she figured out how to kick and and make the music go on and she punched the little scuba diving turtle dude around a bit.And still had some time to do some crafting of chain mail armor on EQ2 and fix a bunch of these LiveJournal entries. |

*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. MySpace does not allow me to backdate further than 1/1/06, so the original post dates are in the subject line* As to not have TOO many places to have to read .. I am moving things around.. I will now be using LJ again to post random day to day thoughts.. I will still be using Blogger to post updates which strictly have to do with my website.. so I am moving any Blogger entries that do not involve website updates here to LJ. I think that will help make it easier for people so they don't have to click around too much (since I had 3 blogs). Of course I am totally overestimating myself anyway as really no one reads my stuff anyways. ;-) |
