| On an unrelated note.. [LJ Repost] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted* Have I mentioned recently how much I hate iTunes.. or I guess more specifically CDDB. I might as well not even use it. A good portion of the time they don't have things labeled the way I would like, and sometimes even alltogether wrong (I have caught a number of typos). I always spend like a half an hour per CD trying to correct liner notes, dates, etc. I guess it is because I am an audiophile that I am so anal about it. I freak out if one of my CDs is not put back in alphabetical order, so it's no wonder I get annoyed. I also wish they gave you more space on that "description" section. I just don't always feel like you get as much info as you do when you actually buy the album, and that doesn't seem right to me. I thought I saw somewhere though that you can download some bookets sometimes if you buy a full album, but I don't rememebr where. Still I think when you pay a freaking Dollar per song someone should be nice enough to give you as much info (and correct at that) about what you purchased. Maybe I should go work for them, hell I already relabeled my catalogue of 800 cds, so there's a start! Oh yeah and the other thing that annoys me (which I mentioned already to alienpigpen) the lack of stuff I actually want that is avaiable through pay services like iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody. I try so hard not to bootleg things, but it makes it difficult when what you are looking for isn't there to purchase. I wish they would stop catering to top 40 listening people only and maybe put a few more albums from obscure acts and albums. |
