| The Return of "The Theme Show" [LJ Repost] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted* If you're interested, I got over my little snit. The Theme Show is now broadcasting again after a 5 1/2 year or so hiatus. For those that don't know (or don't remember) The Theme Show is a music cast where I pick a theme every other week and play songs with that theme in the title. The first episode, titled "Space is the Place" features "I'm the Urban Spaceman" by Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, "Space Oddity" by David Bowie, and "Space Age Love Song" by Eleven Shadows (a cover of the Flock of Seagulls Song), among others. Check it out in blog format at:http://ishtarandromeda.libsyn.comor subscribe directly to the feed:http://ishtarandromeda.libsyn.com/rss |

| Nevermind Then [LJ Repost] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted* OK, since not one person even responded that they give a crap about the theme show.. I guess I'll just not do it. No point making a cast for myself.. might as well just skip all the work and turn my iPod on. Glad I got so much support *sarchasm here people*. Now I'm in a shite mood.... |

| GARGG!!! [LJ Repost] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted* Sorry... I just have to let it out somewhere. I dunno what my issue is, maybe the heat. I am so super bitchy lately that everything is pissing me off. It's all stupid shit too. Like I mentioned in a reply to a previous post some person at eBay annoyed me because they wanted all these details about a shirt. I could understand if I was charging a lot of money but the minimum starting bid is $1.99! Its cheap... pull your freaking nose out of the sky and either buy it or don't. Don't waste my time asking me dopey questions. Also a package I ordered over 10 days ago was lost by UPS. I called UPS, they can't help me, the shipper has to put a tracer on. I call the shipper, get transferred 3 times only to get a guy who tells me I need to call customer service which is a whole separate number. So I call that wait on hold for a half hour only to have to guy tell me he sees they are supposedly redeliverring it. Yes I got this message too on the UPS phone system, however of you talk to a person or go to the website it is obviously lost as it went out for delivery on the 16th and there is no further action after that . Still I waited as to not seem like some jerk, it still didnt come! Finally today they say they will resend the package and put in a claim for the old one. OK and you couldnt just do that yesterday why?!!!I still am getting continuous spam from people who can't ruddy read that my MySpace says FREINDS ONLY. Fuckers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yeah and just in general I am bummed out a lot because I never go anywhere or do anything. I can't go anywhere unless I get a babysitter and I really only trust a couple of people to do that, but now that its summer everyone has plans every weekened, except me. And even if I could go out, I don't know who I'd go with or where. Usually I go out with my husband;. but we don't like the same stuff except movies. So for example on my birthday night Voltaire was playing and I would have loved to go except it was too short notice to get a sitter and I dont know anyone to go with anyways.. so whats the point? Other than that generally people annoy me because they are rude and inconsiderate. One night after the wake we went to a week or two ago, My dad, Steve, and I went to Macaroni Grill to get a quick bite before I picked Meaghan back up. We had one of those benches where people sit on either side with a common back. The kid behind us kept kicking the chair. In and of itself that would be annoying except he was sharing the bench with his mother, so theres no no way that at least she couldn't be aware he was doing it. We tried at first just giving them the old over the shoulder look to see if they would get the hint. They didnt so we asked the waitress to ask them nicely if they could stop him from kicking. She hesitantly did it and then proceded to treat us shitty because she didnt want to do it for the rest of the night. She could have asked a manager if she wasnt comfortable, or hell Steve would have done it if no one else wanted to, but instead she treats us like crap. So anyways in the meantime the dad gave my dad dirty looks the rest of dinner, and then the couple called over a manager and got free ice creams for the kids because we asked them to stop kicking. So firstly they are rewarding the bad behavior. Then as they leave the mother says some snide comment about how the "Kicker is leaving now". I half wanted to get up and break her nose.. but I just ignored her instead. Pretty much when people are that clueless hitting them only gets you arrested and sued and doesn't make them learn anything at all. It was just aggravating. No wonder the kids couldnt behave, when the parents ignore them and then act like they have every right in the world to do whatver they want regardless of other people comfort. Anyways at the end the waitress apologized that we had to have children behind us. I wish Meaghan had been with us, because the whole incident would have been different. Everyone just assumed we hated children and thats why we were treated like shit. It had nothing to do with children in general it was the fact that people are rude and cannot respect other people. We explained it to her, but you could tell it went right over her head. I think Steve left her like a penny tip, as he does on those rare occasions where a waitstaff is such an asshole that he trys to make a point. The one thing that did make me laugh was I saw a car.. and it had a Feng Shui bumpersticker on it. I mean isn't that really missing the point entirely. Feng Shui is about balance and harmony. So slapping a bumpersticker on your car is about as non Feng Shui as you can get!!! |

| Poll RE: Theme Show [LJ Repost] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted* OK, so here's the thing. If not many people are going to listen to it, I can host the "Theme Show" podcasts with Meltman for little or no money. If it's going to be popular, I may have to move it to a pocast hosting service instead, so he doesn't have to set up a dedicated server and all that (I'm just trying to save him time and money, since as it is he breaks pretty much even as far as hosting costs). However, Libsyn who seems the most user friendly and reliable service charges a lot... so I would either have to cut the show down to once a month, or if I go to a greater frequency would have to advertise to cover the cost. The questions here are this: How many of you are thinking of subscribing to the Theme Show? If you are going to subscribe, would you mind advertising? If I don't do advertising would you be happy with only hearing a show once a month? Thanks to anyone who participates in answering these questions so I can decide which route to go. Thanks. |

| Random Ponderings |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted* alienpigpen's new Saix icon just randomly made me think how nice it is for my Imaginary Hunks of the Month page that Square was nice enough to make 13 more hot fake men for me to promote over the coming months (wonders if anyone would care if I did them all in a row?...) course it would help if Blogger worked once in a while so I could update the old stuff too (for some reason the time of day I can work on stuf is always when they do maintenance.. pfffttt). |

| ATTENTION ALL RED SOX and/or EVERQUEST II FANS!! [LJ Repost] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted* Important event coming up June 5, 6 & 7. Everquest II is making a special NPC "Curt Schilling". During those 3 days if you register at http://www.battleals.com you will be able to play Everquest II (I believe for free). You will be able to try your hand at defeating the special NPC; for every person that does so Sony Online Entertainment will donate $5 to Curt Schilling's ALS Association. Even if you don't care about the game, this is a very good cause, and I urge anyone who can to participate. More details at the Everquest II website:: http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/news_archive.vm?id=796§ion=News&month=current |

| Podcasts? [LJ Repost] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted* I don't suppose anyone has VERY easy to understand instructions on how to make Podcasts. I wanted to repost my old Theme Show (internet radio show) page and put some feeds in with the playlists for people to listen to. Even the pages I am finding online called "Beginner" guides seem impossible to understand. |

| Suzi Q!! [LJ Repost] |
*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted* Woo.. first of several episodes of "Happy Days" featuring Suzi Quatro (Leather Tuscadero) is on Superstation WGN RIGHT NOW!! I haven't seen these since before I even knew who the heck Suzi Quatro was.. so that was kind of cool. Too bad all her songs are out of character.. being as the show is set in the 50's and all the stuff I really like from her is her harder Detroit-Rock style stuff from the 70's. Still it was cool and there should be more of them coming up since this was the episode where they all meet her for the first time. |
