What can i say I’m feeling Memeish lately [LJ Repost]

*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted*
Another one nicked from Julie: 1. Are you a child of the 70s, 80s, or 90s? End of the 70's/80s 2. Where were you born? Everett MA 3. What kind of home did you grow up in? I don't remember my first home, but when my mom and biological dad separated we lived in my grandparents split level until I was maybe 4, then we lived in an apartment in Acton until about second grade, we then lived in a split level in Reading until the end of sixth grade, and finally I spent the last of my school years ina a colonial in North Andover. 4. Did you enjoy your childhood? Sometimes, I had a lot of fun on my own esp. using my imagination, I didn't always get on with other kids until maybe 4th grade, so I was really pissed when we moved and I had to start all over again. 5. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? An astronaut (I saw "Space Camp" waaaay too many times)and after that a Marine Biologist (I wanted a job feeding the sharks in the big tank at the New England Aquarium) 6. What do you want to be now? If I could pull it off, a Game Programmer or something like that but I fear I'd get frustrated or bored with it half way through school, because I do that... 7. What was your first best friend's name? Annemarie Hunter 8. Are they still your friend? Nope, I moved and lost touch. Saw her once when I was serving food as my B.U> job, but I had changed too much since then to really carry on a meaningful conversation (also I was working and couldn't talk much) 9. Can you name all the schools you ever attended? McCarthy-Towne Elementary Birch Meadow Elementary School (by far my favorite school title ever, it sounds like somewhere "Woodstock" should go with his bird friends) Coolidge Middle School North Andover Middle School North Andover High School Boston University Merrimack College (Chemistry only) School of the Museum of Fine Arts (2 semesters- Jewelry Design) 10. Were you closer to your mom or dad as a kid? Mom 11. What was the first record, tape or CD you remember buying? Pink Floyd "The Wall" was the first record I remember actually obtaining, though I also had The Beatles "Yellow Submarine" and some Villiage People thing but I think I got those from my mom. 12. How old is a good age to have kids? Whenever you feel ready. I waited until my early 30's. 13. Are you scared of anything? Ghosts and Falling (from somewhere high) 14. What was your favourite class in elementary school? English (I used to be a book geek) 15. Did you buy school lunch or bring your own? I don't think i bought until Junior High 16. Broken any bones or had any freaky accidents as a kid? I got my head stuck in a railing once, and I used to eat rocks and then regurgitate them.. but other than that i think I was relatively healthy/normal 17. Were you a mean kid? I got in trouble in elementary school for telling a kid to go suck an egg (yeah remember when that was bad?) but I was provoked.. I also got suspended with weekend detention for fighting (only it wasn't as cool as "The Breakfast Club") in High School but I was also provoked then as well. 18. Favourite board game of all time? I always liked Life and Clue. I also used to like this game my grandmother had called "Masterpiece" where you had all these famous paintings and one of them was supposed to be a forgery or something and you had to figure it out... 19. Did you play house or pretend to be a super hero? Not really either specifically, I guess I went through a Spiderwoman phase, I also had a Dukes of hazard Phase and we used to like to play hospital (not in the dirty way) in kindergarten because the "medicine" was actually Good N' Plenty candy20. Seriously, are you still just a kid at heart? Sometimes, but when I'm not apparently I am turning into an old lady... or so my husband tells me

I love when the songs fit perfectly to the questions, even if half of these made my life sounds like the soundtrack to some BDSM film...Also weird I got two poison songs in a row, but kind of rocked that I got Praga as my dancing song since I love his music to dance to. I liked this so much I think I'll make a mix. ... hmm interesting I guess someone figured out that 29 songs comes out to appx. 2 hours.... anyways here's the link if you wanna hear my mix (ok maybe not so much mix since I didn't actually bother "mixing" the songs):http://ishtarandromeda.com/music/lifesoundtrack.mp3

NEWS [LJ Repost]

*part of a series of posts I am cross-posting. I'm finally within the MySpace timeline, which means these posts will be dated the actual date/time they were originally posted*
Ok, so yeah so since no one who's not supposed to know about this surprise has a LJ account, I thought I would put this out there. Doubt anyone will be able to, but Steve and I are now the proud ownders of our own little cinema jem up in the deep dark woods of Lancaster, NH. It's a cute little art deco-ish one-screen formerly owned by Spinelli Cinemas, and we are having a little get together this SATURDAY (3/31) probably areound 5-ish or thereso. Festivities will include eats and drinks, soundtrack mixed by yours truly, a then/now presentation Steve and Joe (the other main participant in this theatre venture) and their 20 years in the movie business, and hopefully a presentation of a feture film (assuming we can book one that no one expects us to sell tickets for). If you want to meet us up there and participate e-mail me for more info and directions: mailto:ishtarandromeda@gmail.com?subject=Theatre%20Party&body=Please%20send%20me%20more%20info%20regarding%20the%20party%21If you can't make it then, then come up anytime after April 6 (which is probably when we will re-open to the public). We're hoping to open with "300" for those that haven't seen it yet or want to see it again (since no one else in northen NH seems to be playing it). We then hope to book Spiderman 3 followed by Pirates of the Carribean: World's End (crosses fingers at studios).

Photo-synthesis
I'm currently scanning my little brain out.. or course as appx. 2 minutes per photo, this could take a while (the scanner is set to max res). Still right now I'm working on Jackies Gallery (all two pictures of her) and am hoping to have scans up of "Weird Al" concerts hopefully by the end of the day. As I upload pics to my Picasa gallery, they will probably be coming down off of MySpace and Facebook.. (aside from my defaults) so if you wanna look at pictures of me or my friends and/or our wacky escapades you're going to have to go to my Photo Page.

I also meant to apologize for the fact that all my pictures and icons aren't working at the moment. I am having Chris make my website so I can attempt to use WordPress to edit it, so I had to clean everything out of my little section of the server. Until that's all done no piccies, blah!

DJ Mothra (Ceremony, Boston) finally got a clue? His set list is actually good. Maybe he just got a bunch of new discs for Christmas or something, I don't know but for once he wasn't playing anything that was already old when he was playing it in 1999 (nevermind 2006/07). Of course this ends up being a two-sided coin as I now have to purchase half these damn songs. :-)

SWEET!!! [LJ Repost]
was just looking through the billboard club charts for new dance music (as I do every now and again, well that and the set lists from Industrial clubs.... but I digres). Anyways some of it I already had, and a few others (Lady Sovereign and "Rock This Party" by Bob Sinclair) I absolutely hated. Until I came across this little gem:
Koishii & Hush Featuring Catherine McQueen -Time After Time
If you're like me you are thinking "oh no, not another song sampling that played out Cyndi Lauper track" but no, they are covering the song "Time After Time" by the beloved, one of my favorite bands from the early 90s and IMHO quite underappreciated. I never though I would see the day anyone on this earth would cover or sample "The Beloved"! I squee with joy!!!
